Biography
Zixuan completed her PhD in Statistics at Western University. Her research focuses on statistical and machine learning methods for human-caused wildfire occurrence prediction. She develops predictive models to better understand wildfire risk and improve forecasting by integrating forecast errors in the climate-related data. Her work combines statistical methodology with modern machine learning techniques to build accurate, interpretable models for environmental applications. As a postdoctoral researcher, she is excited to collaborate on developing data-driven approaches for the application of LiDAR data on wildfire behaviour analysis.
